Higgsfield | AI Video Tools Arrive in After Effects
Higgsfield has brought its AI generation and editing tools into Adobe After Effects through a dedicated plugin panel. Motion designers and video editors can generate footage or images, remove backgrounds, reframe clips, edit selected areas, and upscale results without repeatedly moving files between a browser and the active composition.
Higgsfield brings AI generation into the After Effects timeline
The plugin installs as one panel for both After Effects and Premiere Pro. Inside After Effects, it appears under Window, Extensions, and Higgsfield AI, keeping generation and finishing tools close to the composition instead of separating them into another workspace.
Creators can generate AI video and images from natural-language prompts, then place the results directly into the project. The panel also includes Reframe, Remove Background, Draw to Edit, Upscale, and Edit Video, covering both asset creation and common finishing tasks.
Generation and finishing stay inside the same composition
A generated background, title card, overlay, or B-roll clip can enter the timeline immediately after creation. If the lighting, framing, or visual direction does not match the shot, the editor can request another result from the same panel and continue compositing without a separate download and import cycle.
The finishing tools address practical production work around those assets. Reframe supports six aspect ratios with subject tracking, Remove Background creates an alpha channel without a green screen, Draw to Edit changes selected areas, and Upscale can process footage at resolutions up to 4K or 8K.
AI agents can work with layers, effects, and keyframes
The panel can also connect After Effects to Higgsfield Supercomputer or Claude through MCP. An agent can work with active compositions, layers, keyframes, effects, expressions, and scripts rather than limiting its role to generating an external video or image.
This makes it possible to describe an animation, recreate a design from an image reference, rebuild motion from a video reference, or generate an expression in plain language. Because these actions change a live composition, editors should still inspect timing, layer organization, easing, references, and visual consistency before treating the result as finished.
Compatibility, internet access, and Higgsfield credits still apply
The integration requires After Effects 2024 version 24.0 or newer on Windows 10 or 11 in 64-bit mode, or on macOS. The macOS release uses a DMG installer, while Windows uses a ZXP package. Adobe applications should be closed during installation.
An internet connection and a signed-in Higgsfield account are required because generation runs on Higgsfield's servers. The plugin uses the same account, models, asset library, and credit balance as the web platform, with no separate credit pool. Models included in a plan's Unlimited list follow the same credit behavior inside the plugin.

The strongest part of this integration is the shorter iteration loop. Generating a visual beside the composition makes it easier to compare the new asset with the actual shot, adjust the prompt, and test another version while the surrounding layers remain visible.
Agent control moves the plugin beyond a simple generator, especially for repetitive effects, expressions, and animation setup. That convenience also makes review more important, since a fast automated change can still introduce timing, organization, or compositing problems that are not obvious in the first preview.
We would use Higgsfield as an integrated production assistant for exploration and time-consuming edits, while keeping creative direction and final quality control in the editor's hands.
